What the app stores

Your saved format presets, the download history and your settings are written to a local database on your Mac, inside the app’s own storage. Downloaded files go wherever you pointed the destination folder. There is no sync and no copy anywhere else. Clearing the history removes those entries; deleting the app removes the rest.

What the app connects to

• The site you are downloading from. Metadata and the download itself go to that host, which sees your IP address and what you requested — on their terms. Their privacy policy applies to that, not this one.
• GitHub. The app fetches its update feed from raw.githubusercontent.com and downloads new versions from github.com. When you update the download engine from the About window, it fetches yt-dlp from there too. Those requests tell GitHub your IP address, as any download would.

That is the complete list. In particular, the app reads no cookies from your browsers and logs into nothing on your behalf.

Licence keys are checked offline

A Pro key is verified on your Mac, against a public key compiled into the app. No licence server exists, so none is contacted — not at launch, not later, not on a schedule. Whether you use the base version or a licensed one, nothing about your licence leaves the machine.

This website

No cookies, no analytics, no tracking scripts. Fonts are served from this site rather than loaded from a third party. Hosting is Vercel, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses for a limited period as part of operating the service; the download button points at GitHub, which counts downloads per release. Neither tells us who you are.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of or deletion of personal data held about you, and you may complain to a supervisory authority — in Luxembourg, the CNPD.
