Third-party software

Mika+MediaFetch is proprietary software. It ships with three components under their own licences:

  • yt-dlp — Unlicense (public domain). Performs the downloads.
  • FFmpeg 8.0.1 — LGPL v2.1 or later. Muxes video and audio together. This build is made without --enable-gpl, without --enable-nonfree and without --enable-version3, and links no external codec libraries. It is linked dynamically: the libraries sit as separate files in Contents/Resources/Tools/lib and can be replaced with your own build. The unmodified source of this version, together with the build instructions, is available on request to quellcode@daumedia.lu for at least three years from the date of distribution.
  • Sparkle — MIT. Checks for app updates.

Use of the software

Mika+MediaFetch is a tool. Whether you may download a particular piece of content depends on the rights in that content and on the terms of the site hosting it — that is between you and them. The app circumvents no technical protection measures, and doing so is not a use it supports or enables. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any of the sites it can download from.

Online dispute resolution

We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. Complaints are handled directly at the email address above.

For what the app and this site do with data, see the privacy page.
